Merry Christmas! It's a long story...

The reason my Christmas post is late is b/c I've been "trying" to catch up on sleep missed from Christmas. Christmas was crazy busy... We had so many things planned for Christmas day... Big breakfast with the Duckworth side... cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpa... everyone. We also have 2 missionaries out... they are both in England, but they are not both in the same area. My little brother Austin's phone call was scheduled for 10:oo am @ my oldest brother's house in highland. And Joey's little bother Eli's phone call was scheduled for noon @Joey's parents house in Magna. And then the gift exchange/dinner the immediate Duckworth family does @ 5:00. Joey had also told his grandma he would help make the breakfast that was scheduled for 9:00. B4 he knew when the missionaries were calling. It's really hard to be in 2 places at once. So, Joey's mom let us borrow her car so that I could still talk to my brother and Joey could still help with breakfast and talk to his little brother. Then I could meet up with them later to do the gift exchange/dinner. So things as of Christmas eve were going as planned. Christmas morning comes. Joey and I wake up extra early to get ready so I'm not trying to rush out the door and to give my self enough time to drive on the snowy roads. Then we woke up the kids and enjoyed our Christmas morning as a family....

Here is a cute video of Kaiyenna's reaction to all the presents.  Now b4 you watch the video, you have to know that our living room is quite small, so to put a tree up would take up the majority of the room. Last year we had bought a little 3 foot tree and put it on our kitchen table. Well, this year I didn't want it on the table so we waited until Christmas eve to put it up. That way the kids wouldn't get into it. Kaiyenna has recently learned from watching her favorite show World World that a Christmas tree has a star on top and that it's the most important decoration on a tree. So after putting up the tree, I realized this and also realized we didn't have a star, so Joey came up with the idea to use one of the kids' toy stars. Pretty white trash yes I know, but where do you get a star @ 10:00 on Christmas eve... yes I know I could have made one, but I was very tired and lazy at the moment, so the next best solution was the toy star...

Here is everything keygoo got...
  1. 2 pair of shoes... church and regular
  2. A shirt
  3. church socks
  4. &... A new car seat, we got that one a couple of weeks early considering he was supposed to have a front facing car seat at the beginning of Nov.

Here is everything Kaiyenna got...
  1. Winter clothes... she was in desperate need of them
  2. tights
  3. A coat
  4. &... new boots. Her calves were too big to fit them so we had to take them back and they didn't have anymore :(

They both got the big mega Lego's and block to share, oh and Kaiyenna had been asking for bubbles in the bath tub, so I got them actual bubble bath instead of the run off suds from their shampoo.

Look what I got...
From the previous post, I mentioned I was going back to beauty school, well they have a dress code and it's all black, so I got black clothes for Christmas and I got new pointy boots. My old ones are too big. I have very small feet.

Then Joey got....
A new pair of Nike's and all the Nike fit stuff to use while he's working out.

Joey got both him and I a surprise gift that was supposed to come after Christmas but ended up getting here a couple of day early.

The Juke... it swivels open... They are tiny phones. We got them for free with 2 year contract renewal. Our old phones were dying. So that was our Christmas morning!  But, on to the rest of the day. It was about 7:30 am when Joey decided to leave to help his grandma. Well, he got about 4 drive-ways down and got stuck, so after the help of some friend he was finally unstuck enough to get back to our drive-way, so He decided to stay home until the plows came. 5 hours later they show up. They spent the whole morning digging out their equipment so they could clear our road. Finally at 3:00 we were able to leave. That gave us enough time to get to Joey parents house to do the family gift exchange/dinner. So after our party their we go to leave and see that we are again snowed in. So we stayed the night at the parents house along with Joey's sister Abbi and her family. The next morning we were supposed to get home so we could get ready for my family's Christmas party @ 3:00. Well the roads were still covered with snow.  About 1:00 the snow had been driven on enough that it was packed down. so we headed to our house and got cleaned up grabbed our white elephant gifts and the food we were supposed to bring and headed to the party. We got their a little after 5, I think. Well after that party got over the roads weren't too bad, but bad enough that Joey felt we should wait until it was light out side to see. So again we slept out of our own beds and had very tired children. But thank you Shane and Tiff and Mama and Papa Duck for letting us stay in your home. So Now.... today, I'm still trying to catch up on missed sleep. I can't believe I haven't felt fully rested yet.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your happy new year too!

The video is so cute. I love Christmas morning and the looks on little kids faces. I loved the way they were so cautious at first. Good Job Kimbe
