Here is the story! it's kind of long, so bare with me.

Okay so here it is folks... So pretty much strep and mono have the same side effects. Swollen tonsil w/puss, swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, etc... Well I went to the Doctor for a completely different reason. I had been experiencing the worst headache for over a week straight, and I had slight fevering. So I went to the doctor on Weds the 8th to get it checked out. Not only did I have the worst headache, but I had the swollen tonsil w/puss, and swollen lymph nodes. But I wasn't feeling the pain from either of those. Well the doctor wanted to test me for strep.... which came back negative. But he thought that there was definitely a bacterial infection going on so he prescribes me to some antibiotics... augmentin. Well that night, my headache was getting really bad, so I took a lortab.... the next morning around 7:00 I wake up and the headache had doubled in pain, so we call the on-call doctor and he tells us to go into the ER to be checked for meningitis. After talking with the ER doctors, They are both convinced that I have strep and that my primary care had gotten a false negative, which happens about 1 out of every 10 or something. Well, to test for meningitis is very painful and most of the time it's viral and you can't do anything for a viral infection anyways, so it'd be pointless really. They do a CT scan of my head just to make sure there is nothing serious going on in there. Everything came back clear, and they said for me to continue with my antibiotics to help clear out the bacteria from the strep. They also prescribed some percocet for the headache.  Well the rest of the weekend went by and Joey was starting to get sick. By Weds the 15th he was sicker than a dog. So he scheduled appointments for both of us to be seen. My headache was not as bad, but it was still there and I had run out of percocet, which was making my skin itch. So he didn't want to prescribe more for me. I was getting sick to my stomach when ever I took Ibuprofen, and  Tylenol wasn't strong enough. So he gave me a migraine medicine, which I only had to take twice. Anyways... after the doctor looked at Joey, he said that what I have has to be viral, because a bacterial infection would have been taken care of with in 24 hours after being on the antibiotic. So he says: "I'm gonna test you both for West Nile and mono, and the different strands of mono, and we will get the results the next day." So we leave, but I didn't ask the Doctor if I should continue with the antibiotic. I just did, because I've heard that you should always finish a cycle of antibiotics so your body doesn't get immune to it. NOW, lets takes a step back for a sec...Kaiyenna's light fixture fell out of her ceiling a while back, the builders didn't use the actual holes to screw it in. They used the ceiling, which is pretty much made of sheet rock and they didn't even go through a stud. Anyway the same night  I broke out in rash I had fixed Kaiyenna's light... ya know, thought it would be a good idea to fix it, it was just hanging by wires. Well the light has fiberglass insulation and I thought I got a whole bunch of fiberglass in my skin and I had a fiberglass rash. But I was confused, because I had showered right after and the skin that was unexposed was breaking out too,  It was the worst on my chest area, face and fore arms which were the exposed areas. So I was convinced it was fiberglass, but Joey and my mom seemed to think otherwise. So that night I still took my antibiotic... idiot I know, and that morning it went from being a few little bumps to a ton all over my body and they itched like crazy.... still itching, but not as bad. My face and ears where getting puffy but they hurt, also I was having a hard time breathing, so Joey called the Doctor and he said it was definitely an allergic reaction and not the fiberglass and because I was having a hard time breathing to head up the the ER. We go through registration and finally meet our ER doctor for that day... haha. He finds out my  history and what meds I'd been taking and he says: "Well from the sound and looks of it, this is a typical rash you get with mono while taking an antibiotic. It created an allergic reaction inside your body, but it doesn't necessarily mean your allergic to the antibiotic." He also says that he wants to test me for mono and that it could take a day for the results to get back...wait, My doctor already did that and he should already have the results. So the ER doc checks the system to see if my results where in there, later to find out that the lab didn't even send the results to our primary doctor. He was a litlle P-O'ed. The ER did find the results and it came back that I have mono, and antibiotic created an allergic reaction inside my body... YEA mystery solved... No more ER trips. Luckily we have met our out of pocket maximum, so everything is pretty much free. Except for the prescriptions. Which add up when you are on 50 different ones a week. oh Joey has mono too, but it's a different stand??? yeah, I'm confused too. So there is the explanation to the pictures in the previous post.

They should just keep a bed for you in the ER! I'm glad that they finally figured out what you have and can hopefully fix it!
